参考范文:
Nowadays short videos are very popular with people. Many students enjoy
watching and sharing them too.
Firstly, short videos are popular because they are short and interesting. They help
us relax and learn useful things quickly. For example, some students share study tips
through videos. Secondly,we can get information about different topics like science
or art. However, there are some problems. The quality of videos varies—some are
helpful while others are not. Also, watching too many videos wastes time and may
hurt our eyes if we stare at screens for hours.
In my opinion, short videos can be good if we use them wisely. We should
choose useful content and control our screen time. Remember to rest our eyes often.
Let's enjoy technology without letting it control us.合江县2025年春期初三学业水平第二次诊断性监测

Coral reefs(珊瑚礁) are important to sea creatures. About a quarter of all ocean life depends on
coral reefs at some point in their life. However, this year, high sea﹣surface temperatures have killed a
large number of coral reefs around the world.
In Dapeng Bay, the development of coral reefs is not satisfactory. Compared with healthy reefs,
the ones in Dapeng Bay show big differences. First, healthy reefs have small areas which are home to
sea creatures, while unhealthy reefs are covered by sea plants. Second, they make different sounds.
Healthy reefs with plenty of sea creatures produce many kinds of sounds, like a band playing music
pieces in the ocean. However, broken reefs with fewer kinds of sea creatures are much quieter. They
can cause whales to lose direction and even swim to the coast.
The recent whale stranding(s 搁浅)in Dapeng Bay are probably related to the state of coral reefs.
Unfriendly environmental activities do harm to the reefs and break the food web, changing the whales'
way of living. Water with high nutrient(营养) levels and city lighting have also made the whales
swim closer to the coast.
The beautiful coral reefs are valuable for supporting ocean life...
( ) 41. What have led to the death of coral reefs this year?
A.Ocean animals. B.About a quarter of all ocean life.
C.Sea creatures. D.High sea﹣surface temperatures.

4
A.Coral Reefs. B.Sea plants. C.Music pieces. D.Small areas.
( ) 43. What can we learn about unhealthy coral reefs?
A.They make louder sounds. B.More whales swim around them.
C.Sea plants grow all over them. D.They help whales find their way.
( ) 44. What may the writer continue to talk about in the last paragraph?
A.Ways to stop whale stranding. B.Actions to protect the coral reefs.
C.Solutions to the city lighting problem. D.Reasons for high sea﹣surface temperatures.
( ) 45. Where can we probably find the passage?

C.In a travel guide. D.In an art magazine.

If you love stories about creative minds and
independent women, you shouldn’t miss the book
Little Women. The story centers around four sisters
— Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy. Meg, the oldest, is
serious and proper. Jo, next in age, is active. She is
brave enough to catch her dream of being a writer.
Beth is shy and quiet and loves music. Amy, the
youngest, is a little proud and enjoys art. Although the
four girls are different in many ways, they have
something in common. Their kind hearts and their
ability to love make them role models for young
readers. Louisa May Alcott is the writer of the book.
She began writing it in May, 1868. She worked on it
day and night and sometimes she even forgot to eat or
sleep. On July 15th, she finished this 402-page book.
In September, just about four months after she started
the book, Little Women came out. It became a
bestseller and turned Alcott into a rich and successful
woman.
