Have you ever seen a blind person on the bus with a dog This dog is most likely a service animal. A service animal is an animal that is trained to do things for people who cannot do them alone because of disability.
Dogs are most usually used as service animals because they are intelligent animals. They also have a good sense of smell and can sense dangerous situations. In addition, dogs are easy to train and are loyal to their owners. When in danger, dogs will do anything to keep their owners safe.
Service dogs are sometimes called guide dogs or hearing dogs. These dogs can help people who cannot see or hear. They are trained to open and close a door, push a button, and listen to a command. If some people need medical attention, the dogs are trained to bark and get help.
Dogs can also be used as therapy dogs. They may visit a school or hospital to help people who are feeling lonely or anxious. Therapy dogs can provide kindness and love to improve a person’s mood, which can then improve that person’s health.
Although dogs are the most common service animals, there are other animals that can be trained to be service animals as well. You might see a cat, a rabbit or a horse that is used as a service animal. These animals can keep a person company and become a good friend.

A. How to improve health B. Animals that people can keep
C. How to train dogs D. Service animals that help people

When I recently visited Unitree Robotics, a cutting-edge (尖端的) Chinese humanoid (类人的) robot company in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province, I decided to test their creation in a unique way.
I volunteered for an experiment—having both the robot and myself standing side by side and pushed over, in order to see who would recover their balance more quickly.
To make things even more challenging, I requested to be blindfolded (蒙住眼睛), ensuring I couldn’t anticipate the push. The result blew my mind. While I was struggling to keep my balance, the humanoid robot hardly moved, staying still in place.
The level of advancement in Chinese humanoid robotics has been far beyond what I anticipated. Earlier this month, Unitree offered an update on their engineering, showcasing (展示) their humanoid robots walking down a boardwalk (木板道), making their way across uneven terrain (地形) and catching up with a human jogger. The company said that the latest robot was “the most agile” robot so far.
This development holds significant meaning. More importantly, Chinese robotics makers are mass-producing them and making them cheap for common consumers (消费者).
33. Why did the writer visit Unitree Robotics
A. To buy a humanoid robot. B. To test the robot’s balance recovery ability.
C. To work as a volunteer engineer. D. To learn how to make robots.
34. What does “blew my mind” mean in Paragraph 3
A. Made me confused. B. Made me excited.
C. Made me surprised. D. Made me worried.
35 What did the experiment show
A. The writer could keep still all the time. B. The robot moved faster than the writer.
C. The robot recovered balance more quickly. D. Both the writer and the robot fell down.
36. Why is the development of Chinese humanoid robots important according to the writer
A. They are becoming affordable for more and more people.
B. They can replace humans in dangerous jobs.
C. They look exactly like real humans.
D. They are more expensive than foreign robots.

Short videos have become increasingly popular in recent years. These videos are typically short in length, lasting from a few seconds to a few minutes, and offer a quick supply of entertainment (娱乐) or information. While these videos may seem harmless, there are worries about the effect they can have on the human brain and attention span (持续时间).
Dopamine is a neurotransmitter (神经递质) that is connected with the reward (奖励) center of the brain. When we experience something pleasurable or rewarding, such as eating a delicious meal or receiving praise, our brains release (释放) dopamine. This release of dopamine strengthens the behavior that led to the reward, making us more likely to do that behavior again.
Short videos can also make our brains release dopamine. The quick and easy-to-understand nature of these videos provides an immediate satisfaction that can be addictive (上瘾的). Each time we watch a video and experience the pleasure of entertainment or information, our brains release dopamine, strengthening the behavior of watching more videos.
Over time, this continuous release of dopamine can lead to a decrease in dopamine receptors in the brain. This means that it takes more and more dopamine to create the same pleasurable sensation, making it even more difficult to stop watching short videos.
Studies have shown that too much use of social media can lead to a decrease in attention span, and short videos may be even more harmful. The never-ending excitement provided by these videos can make it difficult for people to focus on tasks that require lasting attention. This can lead to a decrease in productivity and a reduced interest in activities that don’t offer immediate rewards.
Additionally, these videos can have a bad influence on mental health. Watching an endless stream of short videos can lead to feelings of anxiety and stress. You might also start to feel bad about yourself because you think you’re not as good as the people in the videos.
Not all short videos are harmful, and they can be a valuable tool for entertainment and education. However, it is important to be mindful of how long you watch these videos and focus on activities that require full attention and provide long-term rewards.
37. What do you know about dopamine from the passage
A. Dopamine makes people more attentive.
B. Dopamine keeps us from repeating things we like.
C. Dopamine influences emotions instead of behaviors.
D. Dopamine is released as a result of pleasurable experiences.
38. What causes people to increase their behaviors of watching short videos
A. The strong wish to learn new things.
B. The convenience of getting short videos.
C. The necessity of having social communication.
D. The need to keep the same level of satisfaction.
39. What is the writer’s main purpose in writing this passage
A. To introduce how dopamine works in our brains.
B. To encourage people to improve their attention span.
C. To remind people to limit their time of watching short videos.
D. To explain why short videos have become increasingly popular.

The first kite was invented by Chinese people over 2,000 years ago. Before paper was invented, bamboo and silk had been used to make kites. Since the 2nd century, paper has been widely used in kites, and they got another name “paper glede (纸鸢)”. Because of the cheaper material, kites began to become popular among common people.
Weifang is a city of Shandong Province. It is called the “world kite capital”. Weifang kites fully show folk custom, which takes the advantages of other kinds of kites, especially Beijing and Tianjin kites. Similar to Yangliuqing of Tianjin, Weifang Yangjiabu is also famous for the New Year woodcut picture.
As a handcraft that has been passed down from generation to generation, kite-making includes thousands of patterns and unique styles, becoming an important part of traditional Chinese arts and crafts. The theme of kites can roughly be divided into four types involving blessing, longevity, happiness and auspiciousness, which symbolize people’s pursuit of a better life.
Every late April, Weifang International Kite Festival is held, attracting many kite fans and enterprises to display their fine kite workmanship and excellent kite-flying skills. The small kite has helped to promote economic cooperation and cultural exchanges between countries and regions in the world.

An Unforgettable Trip
Last summer, my family and I took a trip to Guilin, a famous city in southern China known for its amazing natural scenery. We went there in early July, when the weather was warm and the mountains were covered in fresh green.
Our first day was spent on a boat along the Li River. As the boat glided slowly, I was shocked by the tall, strange-shaped mountains reflecting in the clear water—they looked like giant pieces of art! I took lots of photos because every view was more beautiful than a postcard. In the evening, we visited Yangshuo Ancient Town. The streets were full of interesting shops, and I bought some special presents for my friends, like hand-painted fans and small bamboo carvings. The next day, we visited a village near the river. The villagers were very friendly, and they invited us to eat homemade rice noodles and watch their traditional dances.
This trip is unforgettable because of the beautiful nature and the warm people. Spending time with my family in such a peaceful place made me realize how important it is to enjoy simple moments together. This is a trip I will never forget.

【答案】例文
Good Habit, Healthy Life
As the saying goes, “Health is wealth.” I have several good habits that make my life better.
Every day, I eat a balanced diet with lots of vegetables and fruit, and I never skip breakfast. This helps me stay active and focused at school. I also exercise for about an hour, like riding my bike or playing ping-pong, which makes me strong and happy. Another good habit is going to bed before 10 p. m., so I always get enough sleep.
These habits benefit me a lot. I rarely get sick, and I have more energy to study and play with friends. Good sleep also helps me remember things better in class.
However, I sometimes spend too much time watching TV, which takes away my reading time. To improve this, I will make a daily plan and set a 30-minute limit for TV. I’ll invite my parents to remind me. I believe that small changes can lead to a healthier and happier life.
