“When side by side two rabbits go, who can tell the buck (雄兔) from the deer (雌兔) ”China's Yang Jingru and Li Jinzi “played the buck and the deer” in the women's 1,500 m short track speed skating (短道速滑) event of the Winter Youth Olympic Games on Jan 20th, 2024.
They used the classic “rabbit strategy (策略)”. The key of the “rabbit strategy” is teamwork of two skaters. One skater runs very fast from the start, while the other stays behind. This is different from the usual 1,500 m speed skating strategy of keeping the same speed and then speeding up in the last few turns.
Using the “rabbit strategy”, after the first turn, Yang suddenly skated at full speed. She ran one turn faster than the other skaters and stayed at the back of the group, but nobody noticed it.
Working with Yang, Li changed between the front and the back in the first half of the race. This made the other skaters wonder who was the “leading rabbit”. In fact, when the bell rang and showed that there was only one turn to go, everyone had two turns left except Yang. As a result, Yang and Li rushed the finish line successfully while others were getting into a mess.
By using the clever strategy, the two Chinese won both the gold and silver medals, making it a classic case at the Winter Youth Olympics.

plete the summary according to the passage (阅读短文,完成概要)
During the Spring Festival, people observe the custom of Tie Chunlian (sticking New Year couplets). The original of these couplets traces back to Tao Fu (the peach wood charms). First appearing during the Zhou Dynasty (1046——256 BC), they initially took the form of rectangular peach panels (木板) hung at each side of the door.
According to ancient Chinese mythology, there is a world of ghosts dominated by a huge peach tree covering 3,000 li of areas. At its treetop perches a golden rooster whose morning crows summon the ghosts that wander away at night back to this world. The entrence of this world lies to the northeast of the peach tree, guarded by two heavenly gods. If any ghost does something bad at night, the guardians will discover it immediately and catch the ghost, bind it with reed ropes and send it to feed tigers. As a result, all ghosts in that world fear those two gods, so common people carve peach wood into their shapes and place them in front of their door to keep away the evil. Later, people simplify the practice by carving only the names of the two gods, believing that can also ward off the evil. These peach wood panels are later called the “peachwood charms”.
When it came to the Song Dynasty, people started writing couplets on peach wood, serving three purposes. First, it could still have the protective function of peachwood. Second, it could express one’ s good wish. Third, it could be used as decoration to add beauty to the doorway. Later, red paper —— symbolizing happiness and prosperity —— replaced peach wood. These couplets written on paper were stuck on both sides of doors and windows to show people's wish for fortune and luck in the oncoming year. Today, New Year couplets have evolved into a unique Chinese folk art form that remains widely cherished.
During the Spring Festival, the custom of 1. (Tie Chunlian) is prevalent. People send birthday greetings by using cards in both Eastern and Western countries. It is believed that the tradition of sending birthday cards began in England in the early nineteenth century. In those days people sent birthday cards when they couldn't wish somebody a happy birthday in person.
In 1840 the first stamp was used in Britain and sending birthday cards became easier, cheaper and more popular. The development of colour printing processes in the 1930s also helped to increase sales of birthday cards.
Today cards are often given with a present, even when people can express their wishes face to face. In recent times e-cards have also become popular. Many people are starting to use e-cards instead of traditional cards because they are free, environmentally friendly and easy to arrive. So will e-cards take the place of paper cards completely in ten or twenty years Probably not. For example, for kids and old people, they don't use e-cards very often.

Have you heard about paper cutting Paper cutting is an important art form in China. Paper cuttings are used for many purposes, and everything can become the theme of paper cuttings, from people to the things that can be found in everyday life such as birds, flowers and animals.
Each paper cutting brings out the personal ideas of the author. People express traditional culture or their own feelings with different styles of paper cuttings. For example, when someone marries, we put up some red paper cuttings on the wall, dressing table or other furniture to express our best wishes.
It is easy to learn paper cutting but very difficult to make it perfect. We need a long-time practice to learn how to use scissors and how to paint. Moreover, we need to learn some cutting skills.
At present, in many parts of China, paper cutting skill has become a symbol of a clever mind.

Last semester, our school organized a science project competition. Our team decided to build a small solar-powered car. We spent weeks researching, designing, and testing. Along the way, we faced many challenges, but we never gave up. Finally, our hard work paid off, and we were satisfied with our car.
This experience has given me two important understandings of teamwork. First, it shows that when we work together, we can overcome any difficulty. Each member's unique skills and knowledge contribute to the team's success. Second, teamwork fosters a sense of unity and belonging. We support each other and celebrate our achievements together.
In summary, teamwork is like a bridge that connects us all. It helps us reach our goals and makes our journey more enjoyable. Let's cherish every opportunity to work together and grow as a team.
