①Trees are one of the oldest plants on Earth. They keep the air clean, reduce noise pollution, make water cleaner, and provide food and building materials.
② Just like us, trees change a lot as they grow. At 1 to 3 years old, young trees learn how to defend themselves. For example, many trees grow thorns (刺) to stop animals from going near.
③At the age of 4, trees begin to grow very quickly and become strong enough to face many difficulties later in life. At the age of 15, trees become young adults. They grow more slowly and begin to produce flowers and fruits.
④When a tree is 20 to 25 years old, it becomes a real adult. The tree reaches its largest size. The adult tree can give us shade (树荫), oxygen and natural beauty. It is a great place for us to have a rest or play games. With good care, the adult tree will go on to live healthily for many years.
⑤Little by little, trees begin to grow older and older and even die. At this time, they still have an important place in nature. When a tree becomes hollow (空的) or part of it becomes dead, it becomes a home to small animals and a source (来源) of food for many other animals.

You may not notice bees often, but they are one of the most important animals on Earth. Here’s why:
First, bees help with pollination (授粉). When bees fly from one flower to another to collect nectar (花蜜), they carry pollen on their bodies. This pollen helps plants grow seeds and fruits. Without bees, about 80 percent of the world’s plants can’t grow well. That means we would have fewer fruits, vegetables, and nuts to eat.
Second, bees make honey. Honey is a delicious and healthy food. Bees work together to make honey—they collect nectar from flowers and store it in honeycombs. A group of bees can make more than 10 kilograms of honey in a year.
Third, bees help keep the ecosystem balanced. Many animals, like birds and bears, eat honey or bees. If there were no bees, these animals would lose an important food source. This would break the balance of nature.
However, the number of bees is dropping. This is because of pollution, bad weather, and the use of chemicals in farms. We can help bees by planting more flowers, avoiding chemicals, and building beehives in gardens.
Bees are small, but they play a big role in our lives. We must protect them!
41.What is the first reason why bees are important

The Power of Plants
Plants are very important to us. They provide food, medicine, and beauty. Today, I want to introduce one of the most resilient plants I know—bamboo.
Bamboo is truly a marvel of nature. It grows in many parts of Asia, particularly in mountainous areas. While other plants require specific conditions to survive, bamboo thrives as an incredibly strong and adaptable plant. I chose bamboo because it is one of the fastest-growing plants on Earth. Some bamboo can grow over 90 centimeters in just a single day! This rapid growth is not just fascinating but also highly beneficial. Moreover, it can be used to make furniture, paper, and even clothing. An interesting fact is that bamboo can also purify the air.
Let’s protect plants like bamboo. They are not only useful but also demonstrate the power of nature. Every plant deserves our care and respect.
