My wife and I would like to go on holiday to southern India next year, to Goa. When is the best time to go
By: Varsha on June 26th 09:17 #2▼
The most popular time to come to Goa is November to March. This is our winter season. In these months, the weather is very nice. It’s not too hot or too rainy and the sea is nice and quiet. But there are a lot of tourists at this time. The beaches are a sea of people and the prices are high. So I think the best time is October. Then you can have good weather and enjoy the beaches when there are not many people, and the hotels are not too expensive. The only problem is that some of the shops and restaurants are not open. I hope that helps. Enjoy your trip!
Which month does Varsha think is the best time to Goa
A. March. B. June. C. October. D. November.
What can we know about Goa

C. The hotels and restaurants are very cheap in winter.
D. Some shops and restaurants aren’t open in October.
What is this text about
A. Health. B. Sports. C. History. D. Holiday.

The differences in time zones around the world can be just one hour, or twelve. We’re all living the same moments, but at different times of the day! It’s Friday at 5 p.m. in London. So who is doing what, where, right now
Darren lives and works in London. He’s a bus driver for London Transport. It’s a cold and grey afternoon in London and Darren’s bus is getting quite busy because people are leaving work for the day and it is raining. He is driving past the Houses of Parliament, and Big Ben is chiming five o’clock. Darren usually finishes work at 6 p.m. He always takes his dog Molly for a walk when he gets home.
Louis is an actor and a waiter. He wants to be a full-time actor, but it’s difficult to find work. Today, he is working as a waiter and ▲ at the Hollywood Diner in Los Angeles(LA). LA is eight hours behind London, so people aren’t finishing work. They are just starting. It’s 9 a.m. and Louis is at the restaurant. He really wants this part at the moment. He is working and also trying to learn his lines(台词) for a big part in a film.
Keiko is an English teacher. She teaches at a junior high school in Tokyo. Japan is 8 hours earlier than London, so in Tokyo it’s one o’clock on Saturday morning. Keiko works very hard and she’s very tired, but she can’t sleep because there’s an awful storm outside and it is raining. At the moment, she is reading a book and listening to music. She is waiting for the storm to finish so she can go to sleep. After all, there’s no school today.
Which sentence is Darren saying
A. “The storm is so terrible!” B. “Hello! What would you like to order ”
C. “Look outside! We are passing Big Ben!” D. “To be, or not to be, that is the question.”
What should be put in “ ▲ ”
A. he is finishing work B. he is having breakfast
C. he is acting out stories D. he is serving customers
How might Keiko feel at the moment
A. Warm. B. Excited. C. Afraid. D. Angry.
How does the writer show the differences in time zones

There are only about 3, 200 tigers still living in the wild today. But in the USA, about 10, 000 tigers live as pets! Some people think keeping big cats like tigers or lions is cool. But it’s actually very bad. Firstly, a big wild cat needs a lot of space to run free. Secondly, the owners(主人) often don’t know how to look after such cats. They don’t give their pets the right kind of food or the care they need, and many die. Finally, they can be dangerous to people—it’s in their nature!
Then wildlife parks are better choices. For example, Longleat Safari Park opened in 1966. It’s the first drive-through safari park outside Africa. In Longleat, you can see lions, elephants, giraffes and monkeys running free, like in the wild. There are also tigers, wolves, bears and more! You can see gorillas, penguins and beautiful butterflies too. Drive your own car or take a safari bus. You can even have a special tour with a guide(导游)! In that way, we can both protect(保护) the animals and have a wonderful trip there.
But wildlife parks are not the best homes. The nature is! Adelie penguins are smaller than most other penguins. They are 45-75 cm tall. They have black and white feathers. Their heads are black. They look funny when they walk, but they are amazing swimmers and they can go down to 180 m under water. Many Adelie penguins live in Antarctica now. But global warming(全球变暖) is bad for them. They eat small sea animals under the ice. When the ice melts(融化), they can’t find enough food. Every animal should have a good life. What can we do to make the world better for them
What does the underlined word “nature” in Paragraph 1 mean
A. Something animals always hear. B. Something animals usually eat.
C. Something animals usually learn. D. Something animals always have.
What is special about Longleat Safari Park
A. There are many African animals. B. Visitors can walk free in it.
C. It is the largest safari park in Africa. D. Visitors can drive their cars in it.
What problem do Adelie penguins face
A. They become taller than 75 cm. B. They cannot swim as well as before.
C. They lose their food when the ice melts. D. Their heads turn from black to white.
Why did the writer write this text
A. To teach readers how to keep pets at home.
B. To ask people to help animals live better lives.
C. To encourage people to visit Longleat Safari Park.
D. To explain why global warming is bad for animals.
D
A lot of school students probably don’t think very much about their lunch. They might bring some sandwiches from home or maybe they all go to the school dining hall. However, in many poor countries around the world, students do not get lunch at all. Every year, 15, 000, 000 children die because they don’t have enough food. This large number is why the Really Good School Dinner Program(项目) started in 2009.
Many groups ask people to give some money to poor areas. The idea behind the Really Good School Dinner Program is different but simple. Students in the UK buy a healthy meal from their school dining hall. They buy their meal and give ten pence more. So, if their lunch costs 2. 50, they pay 2. 60. This ten pence is enough to buy a full meal for a hungry child in another country.
This smart way of helping does two important things. First, it gives food to poor children. Second, it helps them go to school. In some very poor places, children have to work to get money for food. But if they get a free meal, they do not have to work and can spend more time studying. When children get an education(教育), they can get a better job and help their families. It is amazing that a free lunch can change so many lives!
The Really Good School Dinner Program runs every February for one week. Students in the UK have given over 28, 000 and this program has bought more than 450, 000 meals for poor children. Right now, more than 300 schools are in this program, and more new schools are joining each year. The program has also helped children in places with disasters(灾难), like Afghan.
What can we know about students in poor countries
A. They don’t worry about lunch. B. They bring something to eat from home.
C. They don’t usually have lunch. D. They buy lunch at the school dining hall.
How do students in the UK help poor children
A. They make meals for poor children. B. They sell some meals to poor children.
C. They give some jobs to poor children. D. They spend a little more money on lunch.
Why is the Really Good School Dinner Program a great idea
A. Because it helps children get better grades. B. Because it asks for a little but helps a lot.
C. Because it gives poor students much money. D. Because it feeds the hungry children in the UK.
What’s the best title of the text
A. A Famous School in the UK B. Hungry Children in Poor Areas
C. A Dinner Program for Poor Children D. Students’ Lunch Habits in the UK

Second, eat a balanced diet(饮食). Have more fresh fruits, vegetables, and grains instead of fast food. Drink enough water. Then you will be full of energy and keep fit.
Third, get enough rest. As a middle school student, you need 8-9 hours of sleep each night. A good night’s sleep helps your body and mind get ready for the next day.

An Exciting and Unforgettable Trip
Last Friday, we went to the West Lake. It was a sunny day and the sun shines brightly. Lots of interesting activities were waiting for us. To begin with, we decided to go boating to enjoy the natural beauty around. After that, we had a picnic with delicious food, drinks and snacks. What’s more, we were allowed to run and play on the grass. Some of us also just sat there, talking and telling fun stories. All of us enjoyed ourselves.
When I returned home, I felt too excited to fall asleep soon. Gradually, I realized that it was the most exciting and unforgettable time to stay with classmates.
