一、语法选择(共15小题,每小题1分,共计15分)
Before I first 1 to China in 2017, I had only limited experience using food delivery or takeout apps.
But when I came to Beijing and found out 2 I could order McDonald’s from my phone and have burgers and fries delivered straight to my door without even 3 to leave my apartment, I was immediately hooked(上了瘾的,被迷住的). I ended up ordering McDonald’s through Meituan almost every night 4 the next month or so(大约)and only stopped when I realized I was getting fat.
Even so, food delivery apps 5 Meituan and Eleme have proven to be surprisingly useful and convenient. They have become 6 friend or companion for me while 7 in Beijing. Whether I don’t feel like 8 dinner and want to order takeout, or I need to get ingredients, medicine or even simple office supplies, these apps have me covered!
Still, my love for these apps 9 recently led to an issue(争论的问题)I’d overlooked(忽略)—the increase in packaging waste. Even after ordering waimai for a few nights in a row, it’s easy 10 your trash can(垃圾筒)quickly filled up with plastic bags, cardboard boxes and disposable(一次性的)chopsticks. Although you can choose not to have eating utensils(餐具)provided on the app, seeing my food wrapped like a Russian nesting doll(套娃)in several layered boxes 11 only serve to be immediately thrown away raises some concerns.
Although the waimai packaging can 12 , I believe 13 can still be done—downsize the packaging, make 14 more efficient(高效的)and biodegradable(可生物降解的)(because some of this material will be improperly sorted for trash collection), and so on.
I hope that, with the convenience and joy that waimai apps can bring, we can also rest easy(高枕无忧)knowing that we reduce the waste we produce from our modern lifestyles 15 .

NEW POST
I can’t control my big mouth and I cannot keep secrets that my friends tell me. At school, I often talk loudly a lot in class. I have made myself look bad. I want to change this. What should I do
REPLIES
It’s OK. Some people just naturally love to talk. However, when your talking starts to make other people unhappy, it’s time to take a look at your habits. First of all, when you tell your friends’ secrets to others, this makes it hard for your friends to trust you. Good friends are trustworthy and never tell secrets to other people. Think about how you would feel if one of your friends revealed your secret. If you always remember this, you won’t give away any secrets. As for talking loudly in class, if you do it too much, your teacher will probably punish you. That should remind you to stop doing it so much.
I had two best friends named Jim and Peter. They had a fight over a basketball match, so Jim came to me and complained about how Peter didn’t pass the ball to him. Days later, they got over it. But one day, when we were on our way home from school, I made a slip of the tongue and mentioned this to Peter. His smile disappeared and he walked away. Jim also was angry with me because he thought I betrayed (背叛) him. What’s worse, some other students also heard the gossip and started to ignore me. It was really painful. There was nothing I could do but sincerely apologize to them. I decided to keep a low profile (行事低调) and try not to give away any more secrets. Anyone can make a slip of the tongue. But we need to think carefully before we act. It can hurt people and cause us to lose friends.

Cleaning up the table, I caught sight of small round plastic pieces. I discovered they were the tops or covers of color markers I had kept on the table. The only difference was that someone got those covers and chewed (咀嚼) them into shapelessness. On another part of the table, I saw the color markers dried up without covers. I was almost sure I knew who had done it and I could not understand the reasons behind his actions.
As I considered my discovery, my annoyance and anger gradually went away when I remembered that as a child, I did several strange things that must have made my mother mad. I cut our shoes, I chewed pens and pencils, and I wrote and drew pictures on walls and destroyed many things at home. The mind of a child is curious with the spirit of exploration, seeking to understand and test the limits (限制) of many things. Of course, it can be costly, but what is growing up if no mistakes are made
We call it paying the school fees of life. If a child plays with a hot iron and it burns them, it is a given that they will not go near the iron again. Sometimes I watch the children in my neighborhood playing dangerous games. Sometimes I tell them not to do it, but sometimes I let it pass. Children may not want to be told to stop riding as fast as they want until someone has fallen off their bike. A child will not listen when parents ask them to get down from the tree until he has fallen down. However, wisdom shows that if the behavior is deadly, you should stop it in time.
Creativity is valuable. And this is why we should encourage children to remain creative rather than just receive everything they have known and seen. Allow children to make mistakes, but this must be followed with supervision (监督), monitoring, and correction.

Over the past few decades, children have been taking part less in free play and more in organized sports. While participation (参与) in organized sports has both social and physical benefits (益处) for young children, concerns about safety and benefits increase as participants get younger.
Though most children are naturally likely to be physically active, not all kids are willing to get up and move. Soccer coach Joseph Luxbacher says, “Every kid has the potential (潜能) to be a good sportsman in different kinds of sports. Taking part in organized sports such as the school soccer team introduces direction to children’s physical activities. Following a team schedule gives kids a set time and place to exercise. As a result, kids can be safe from accidents and be protected against hurt.”
What’s more, taking part in organized sports gives children time to communicate with others and showing good sportsmanship. For young children who may still be very self-centerd, taking part in team sports teaches them to think about the group and encourages them to be happy about the success of their teammates. Kids can also benefit from spending time with their coach and having a chance to develop a positive relationship with an adult other than their parents, especially if the coach is both skilled and devoted to being a positive mentor (导师).
Playing organized sports requires a lot of time for practice and games, so it would seem that this could influence students’ study. However, it can ameliorate students’ test performance. That’s because to play organized sports well, players have to memorize information, do repetitive actions, and learn from teammates. All these types of learning skills can make students score higher.
Though it can come from many different sources—parents, coaches, teammates or themselves—many children who take part in organized sports feel pressured to succeed. While a little stress can be helpful in leading children to perform with increased focus and strength, too much stress will leave young kids feeling very tired. Organized sports are more likely to put the right amount of pressure on them.
33.What do Joseph Luxbacher’s words show
A.Organized sports can achieve kids’ potential.
B.Most children prefer free play to organized sports.
C.Organized sports can better protect kids from getting hurt.
D.Most children have a set time and place to exercise.
34.What is the third paragraph mainly about
A.Kids can make wise decisions by playing organized sports.
B.Kids can meet better coaches by playing organized sports.
C.Kids can learn social skills by playing organized sports.
D.Kids can better communicate with parents by playing organized sports.

A.Decrease. B.Record. C.Recognize. D.Improve.

When she was 14 years old, Amy’s life was turned upside down by a family trouble.
Amy lived in a small village in India. Her mother fell ill and her father had to spend his time caring for her. As a result, she had to do most of the housework—including washing clothes. What’s worse, her family couldn’t afford an electric washing machine. Instead, she had to do the washing all by hand in the local river, and then carefully carry everything back to her home—a task that took several hours.
Interested in engineering, Amy wanted to make a washing machine which could be used without electricity. She started studying electric washers to learn how they worked. Amy then designed a machine with bicycle pedals(踏板) and chain. To get those, she went to a local shop. Workers there not only gave her the parts, they also helped her make the machine!
Here’s how the machine works: Amy used a cylinder(圆筒) to hold the clothes and put it in a cube(立方体). Next, she connected the bicycle pedals and the chain to the cylinder. As Amy pushed the pedals with her legs, the cylinder cleaned the clothes just like a regular washing machine.
Amy’s invention worked! She had created her own human-powered washing machine—and now a task that used to take several hours took only 30 minutes. Amy’s washing machine was chosen as India’s best invention! And the story of this young woman’s creative invention spread around the world.
“Amy’s invention saves time and money for the world’s poor,” said Jeanine Thomas of the Borden Project, “she made a difference.”

Dear exchange students,
Welcome to our school! To make your visit more pleasant and meaningful, here are some amazing activities for you.
To learn about Chinese traditional culture, taking our ancient poetry class is the top choice. While reading the poems, you may feel that you are meeting people from the past and experiencing their life. It is even more wonderful if you wear some traditional clothes like hanfu and try to behave like them, which helps you understand their life better.
To meet modern Guangzhou, I strongly recommend you to take a trip by riding a shared bicycle along the Pearl River. As one of “the four great inventions” in modern China, shared bikes are convenient enough to take you anywhere, anytime. Touring with a bike, you can enjoy not only the natural beauty along the river, but also some famous landmarks around Zhujiang New Town. By the way, remember to take your mobile phone, as using shared bicycles needs scanning with a mobile phone.
We are looking forward to your arrival!
Yours,
Li Hua
