Will AI be good or bad for artists
As AI gets more involved (参与) in the world of art, people are asking, “What’s the relationship between AI and human artists ”
Giacomo Bruni from Italy thinks AI and human artists are different. In his eyes, human artists are like filter (过滤器) of society. They just want to show beautiful things around them to the world. For them, less is more. But AI doesn’t understand this. For AI, everything is the same. AI doesn’t know what is more important and what is beautiful. So everything in AI-created art is flat.
But Sun Yuxin from China said that AI can be helpful for human artists. AI saves a lot of time for artists, and it helps them with a lot of basic (基本的) work. He also said that AI will not make human art disappear in the near future. That’s because that design is created by people’s mind and AI just helps us make it into the reality.
31. The question from the title has been clearly and exactly answered in the passage.
32. The underlined (划线的) sentence just means that human artists can decide what is good, but AI can’t.
33. The underlined word “flat” in the passage possibly means boring.
34. In Sun Yuxin’s opinion, AI can replace human artists to do all of the work.
35. In order to avoid some problems caused by AI, we have to prohibit (禁止) AI in our lives.

Some Canadian children are speaking with the British accent (口音) these days because of Peppa Pig, according to their parents.
Peppa Pig has been watched by children around the world since it first appeared on TV in 2004. This popular kids’ cartoon mainly follows the life of Peppa and her family in the UK. Years ago, my mother bad a terrible earache. The pain was unbearable and it wouldn’t go away. Finally, she went to the hospital. The doctor pushed an otoscope (检耳镜) into her ear, and within seconds, be pulled it out and looked at her in the eyes. “Have you been putting Q-tips in your ears ” he asked. Like so many others, my mother had been using Q-tips to clean her ears. And her use of Q-tips had caused an ear problem.
Q-tips have long been seen as household basics. They are used for different kinds of beauty upkeep (美容保养), arts, home cleaning and baby care. Every box of Q-tips comes with a warming: “Do not put this in your ear,” But many, if not most, have turned a blind eye to it. “People come in with Q-tip, related ear problems all the time,” says Dennis Fitzgerald, a doctor in Washington, D.C. “People say they only use them to put on make up (化妆品), but we know what else they’re using them for.”
The Q-tip was invented in 1923 by a man named Leo Gerstenzang. He came up with the idea after watching his wife use a toothpick (牙签) with a cotton ball on the end to carefully clean their young child. These early Q-tips were similar to those sold today, except for a few key differences. They were single-rather than double-sided. They were for baby care, not everything under the sun. And they didn’t try to keep people from putting them in their ears. It wasn’t until the 1970s that Q-tip boxes began to warn against sticking these things inside of ears.
Yet today, Q-tips are one of the most common causes of ear problems. “There’s really no way to stop it but take the product off the market,” says Fitzgerald, a doctor. “And that is, you know, impossible.”
41. Why does the writer talk about her mother’s experience at the beginning of the passage
A. To introduce the invention and history of Q-tips.
B. To lead to the topic about the dangers of Q-tips.
C. To help readers know the best use of Q-tips.
42. Which of the following statements about Q-tips is right
A. The wrong use of Q-tips leads to many ear problems.
B. The early Q-tips were used for babies only by doctors.
C. People pay enough attention to the waning about Q-tips.
43. What do the early Q-tips look like
A. B. C.
44. What does Fitzgerald mean at the end of the passage
A. We never use Q-tips anymore.
B. The government should stop the sale of Q-tips.
C. It seems hard to avoid using Q-tips in people’s life.

In old myths (神话) or new ones, whether from Asia, Africa, the Americas or Europe, the world’s hero stories all have the same basic shape. The details of the stories may change, but every hero story has the same three parts.
In the first part of any hero story, the hero starts a journey. Often the hero does not, at first, want to go on this journey. But in the end, he finally agrees to do so. He leaves the safety of his home, friends and family to go to this new place. This place is very different from the hero’s home and is often dangerous. Sometimes there is someone who helps the hero to understand this new place. The person gives the hero the information he needs to succeed.
The second part of the hero story is the most exciting. This is when the hero must pass some kind of test or overcome a challenge. A common example of such a test is when the hero has to fight a monster (怪兽) with much bigger size and greater strength. The hero does not, at first, believe that he will be able to kill the monster. Other common challenges include solving a problem or having to face one’s fears. In any challenge, the hero must use his strength, intelligence and bravery to pass the test. He must kill the dragon, answer the question or trust in one’s abilities. Of course, in the end, the hero always succeeds.
Finally, in the last part of the hero story, the hero returns home. He is a better person now—one who has the lessons he has learned from what he has experienced along his journey-wealth and knowledge-to share with family and friends.
Features: 1 the myths are created and wherever they are from, they all share the same basic shape.

Dear He Wei
I’m glad to hear from you. In general, you’ve done a great job this term.
You’re active enough to join in the listening activities. I’m always lost in your writing too. It’s full of good ideas. And reading is not a problem getting in your way. The area you need to work on the most is actually speaking. I recommend more practice at home. As the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect.” You can speak with native speakers as much as possible. You can read some traditional English classics to improve your understanding of traditional culture. English study is difficult but interesting. As long as you try hard, you will make great progress.
Hope you good luck for next term!
Yours,
Li Hua
