Mom often tells me about her primary school life. At that time, the biggest day for them was the School Picnic (野餐) Day. It usually fell on the last day of school in June.
On that day, kids first played simple games. No one cared who won or who lost. Soon, before anyone knew it, it was lunchtime. Parents had prepared picnic baskets for kids and filled them with nice food. There was a poor family. That year, they had no picnic lunch. Mom wanted to help, but she knew they would be embarrassed (尴尬的) if she gave them something from her own lunch basket.
Just then, the teacher said there was going to be a sack race (套袋赛跑) before lunch. The winners would get a special lunch basket. My mom asked Mary, the oldest sister of the family, if she could be her partner (伙伴) and Mary agreed. Now in China there are many pet-themed (宠物主题的) restaurants. In the restaurants, cats, dogs, ducks or other animals walk in the dining space, and people can play with them when they eat or have drinks. With so many pet lovers today, it isn’t surprising that such restaurants are now everywhere in Chinese cities. However, few people think about if it is healthy to enjoy their food in such an environment.
In most of the pet-themed restaurants, a number of cats or dogs can walk freely in their living space and even in the dining space. What’s more, animal hairs are everywhere, and bad smell (气味) fills the restaurants. In one of the dog-themed restaurants, the dogs fight or jump onto the dining table.
In October, there was a meeting about the pet-themed restaurants and their food in Guangzhou. Some people at the meeting talked about their worries. They thought the animals in the pet-themed restaurants might carry parasites (寄生虫).
As more pets are coming to Chinese families, they have become an important part of people’s lives. The growing pet-themed restaurants have made people’s lives interesting and colorful. However, without rules, the restaurants can’t be good choices for people.
( ) 52. What can we learn from Paragraph 1
A. Pet-themed restaurants are popular in China.
B. Few people like to have meals in pet-themed restaurants.
C. People often take their pets to play in pet-themed restaurants.
( ) 53. Why do the pet-themed restaurants make some people worried
A. Because too many people may scare the animals.
B. Because people may eat in a dangerous environment.
C. Because the restaurants feed animals with unhealthy food.

A. They will be more popular.
B. People should make rules for them.
