Smart Use of AI Tools
Dear fellow students,
With the rapid development of AI technologies, many of us are using such tools as ChatGPT or DeepSeek to search for answers to our schoolwork, which not only harms our learning but also affects our thinking.
Therefore, I advocate using AI wisely in our study. For example, we can use it to explain complex concepts, improve our drafts, or generate study questions when necessary. In a word, it should be used to promote learning rather than replacing it.
Let’s try to be smart users of AI and use it to enhance our learning, not to shortcut our education.
第二节 读后续写(25分)
Just then, we heard the door click open. Out came Mrs. Hayes with a lamp in her hand. When her eye fell on the red, heart-shaped box, she leaned closer with a mixture of confusion and excitement. Driven by curiosity, she reached out her hand, picked it up and opened it with trembling hands. On seeing the candy, she could hardly contain her joy. A broad smile spread over her face. Seeing the surprise and happiness in her eyes, we couldn’t help giggling, covering our mouths with hands.
Hearing the giggles Mrs Hayes looked up at the bushes. We had nowhere to hide, so we jumped out of the bushes, yelling “Happy Valentine’s Day!”. She stood rooted to the spot, speechless with surprise. Recovering from the shock, she walked to us and hugged us tightly, saying “Thank you all!” with tears of happiness welling up in her eyes. At the same time, a great wave of warmth swept over us. The box of candy would be treasured as it was a reminder of an amazing Valentine’s Day.2025-2026学年第一学期高三年级9月月考

Everyone knows this: Slowly turn up the heat on a frog in a pot of water, and the frog won’t hop out. Unaware of the slight increase in heat, it will stay put until — well, until it dies. When it comes to the effect of rising global temperatures on amphibians (两栖动物), the frog-boiling fable is more than just a metaphor (隐喻).
Climate change is becoming one of the biggest threats to frogs and other amphibians, according to a major study published Wednesday in the journal Nature. Between 2004 and 2022, rising temperatures became the primary reason why more than 100 amphibian species were slipping toward extinction.
The spread of disease among frogs and the destruction of their habitats have long been recognized as reasons why many amphibians are decreasing. But this new study establishes climate change as a major risk for amphibians around the world, too. The soft-skinned animals lack the fur and feathers to help adjust their temperature in this hotter and more drought-stricken world.
Less attention is paid to frogs and other amphibians compared to more well-known groups like birds. But losing amphibians would be disastrous because they often act as a key link in the food web of ecosystems, wolfing insects down and, in turn, being eaten by larger predators (捕食者).“Without those amphibians to fill that role, we will see the breakdown of this food web,” said Neam, who works for an Austin-based environmental group.
Luckily, habitat protection and other conservation measures have been taken to help recover more than five dozen amphibians from Costa Rica to Malaysia. “It’s not all bad news,” said Jennifer Luedtke, an amphibian group leader of the International Union for Conservation of Nature. “But we really must build on this improvement and significantly increase investment in amphibian conservation.”
24. How is the topic introduced
A. By listing facts. B. By sharing a story.
C. By explaining ideas. D. By raising a question.
25. What is the main reason for the decrease of amphibians according to the new study
A. The spread of disease. B. The rise of temperature.
C. The loss of habitats. D. The lack of feathers.
26. What will happen if the number of amphibians decreases
A. The ecosystem will become more diverse.
B. Wolves will depend more on insects.
C. Predators will be the key role of the web.
D. The food chain will be destroyed.
27. How does Luedtke feel about the future of amphibians
A. Worried. B.Uncertain.
C. Hopeful. D. Curious.
C
There are quite a few advantages of wearing school uniforms. The idea may seem disagreeable at first, but considering all the positive effects coming from wearing uniforms you would be more likely to enjoy them.
Teachers love school uniforms because they help provide an orderly learning environment. Having student dressed in uniforms may teach them how to present themselves in a neat and professional manner(利益,举止). They give students the opportunity to learn how to dress like young ladies and gentlemen. And they can focus their attention on academics rather than style.
Purchasing school uniforms is easy and needs less hesitation and consideration. No matter what the school’s policy is, there are only specific essential pieces to the wardrobe that are necessary, so it won’t break the bank. A few wardrobe(衣橱)items can last a long time. Parents could also enjoy an easy morning, as it will take less time to choose a set of clothes for the school day.
Students wearing uniforms will feel less pressure about what to wear or not to wear when their classmates are dressed similarly. Getting dressed before school becomes less of a chore when students are limited in their choices, so there shouldn’t be any trouble about choosing an outfit for the day and getting ready quickly. Some students may not like the lack of individuality with a uniform, but some school dress code policies may offer them the opportunities to show their unique style.
Uniforms today are also becoming trendier and can be seen in many areas of pop culture. Celebrities(名人)and fashion designers are using uniforms as inspiration for new looks which also appeal to students.

A. a school uniform should be worn every day

C. parents working in a bank can afford the uniform
D. purchasing school uniforms won’t cost a lot of money
30. We can infer from the text that school uniforms
A. are not popular with fashion designers
B. will be more fashionable in the future
C. were not accepted by parents in the past
D. will be designed by students themselves
31. The author’s attitude towards students’ wearing school uniforms is ________.
A. negative B. unclear
C. doubtful D. supportive
D
Like most couples, my husband and I dreamed of becoming homeowners. Sure, apartment living comes with its own set of advantages—less housework, shared comfort, less to clean up and care for, and usually cheaper rent. As a result, we decided to downgrade from our neat five-bedroom, 2,700-square-foot house on the water to a three-bedroom, 1,369-square-foot apartment, with two kids.
Once we arrived in our new apartment, we were surprised to find that things flowed relatively smoothly. There was so much less to keep up with—fewer floors to mop, fewer windows to clean, fewer walls to wipe, etc. Now I think of our home as our little playhouse, since it's much smaller and everything is closer together. That also makes it so much easier for me to keep up with as a mom. I collect laundry all on one floor comparing with having to climb stairs to the house's second floor!
In our new home, we use lots of shoe organizers inside of every closet door for more than just shoes—baby items, office items, and medicines. We also have a functional room that serves as an office and gym. Since both my husband and I work from home, we require at least one room to share as an office with fitness equipment fitted into a corner.
While many people choose to downsize for financial reasons, that actually wasn't a factor in our decision. We wanted to be in a lively area with like-minded young families. That was our first priority. Though we may still buy another house in this area at some point down the line, for now, we're thrilled with the concept of renting an apartment. Let me put it this way: We’re not really the “handy” types, so being able to call maintenance(维修)for any repairs is worth every rent coin!
32. What can we learn from Paragraph 1
A. Our old house was upgraded.
B. Living in a house has advantages.
C. Smaller size means more housework.
D. Our new apartment was downsized.
33. How do the couple feel about the new apartment
A. Amazed. B. Confused.
C. Tired. D. Challenged.
34. Why do the couple make changes to their new home
A. To build up their body. B. To make full use of space.
C. To enlarge all the rooms. D.To create a home office.
35. What is the couple’s first concern when moving
A. Transportation. B. Repair work.
C. Neighbourhood. D. Money.

第二节 读后续写(25分)
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使其构成一篇完整的短文。
A Valentine’s Day joke is a funny but super sweet way to celebrate love without being quite so serious! Old Lady Hayes deserved it. She often screamed at us for “borrowing” some roses from her garden. Well, she had it coming.
At least, that’s the way we saw it as George finished tying the string to the red, heart-shaped box. We giggled(咯咯笑)as Ron added the final touch: two plastic red roses, glued to the lid. George practiced pulling the box by the string. I couldn’t wait to see it fly away when she tried to pick it up.
I was the first to notice my dad in the doorway. I froze. Within seconds, my anxiety was shared by all. Dad walked slowly to the empty candy box. He picked it up, and watched it swing back and forth. Then he looked into the eyes of the frightened boys.
“It doesn’t seem so long ago that I was playing Valentine’s Day jokes.” he said. “One year my cousins and I decided to pull one on our grandma even though we loved her. We just wanted to have some fun. We tiptoed to her doorstep and drew a gift there with red paint. Then we kicked the door and hid behind the bushes. When Grandma finally appeared, she looked down and reached for the fresh paint. Slowly, she figured out our joke. She smiled, absently wiping red paint on her clean and white apron(围裙).”Dad paused and for the first time I noticed that his eyes were wet. “Grandma died later that year. I never had another chance to give her a real Valentine.”
Later that night a red heart-shaped box was placed on Mrs. Hayes’ front doorstep. As we hid behind the bushes, the cool night air wrapped around us, adding a chill to our excitement. “Do you think she’ll scream ” I whispered. “Maybe she’ll think it’s a real gift this time,” George replied, trying to hold back his giggles.
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150个左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
