范文一:
An Unforgettable Experience
Last week witnessed an event named International Music Night in our school hall, which
turned out to be the most unforgettable experience in my high school life.
A wide range of activities formed an inviting atmosphere, from singing songs of different
languages to performing various musical instruments, providing us with a feast for both eyes and
ears. Participants had opportunities to explore their own artistic talents and show their passion
for music. Among the colorful activities, what impressed me most was trying a bamboo flute
myself, enabling me to be immersed in the charm of music.
Not only did this meaningful event allow me to appreciate different music styles, but it also
strengthened my belief in how music connects people worldwide.
范文二:
ARewarding Farming Experience
This year’s Labor Day left a deep impression on me, as I experienced firsthand the value of
labor through a whole day spent working on a farm.
Early in the morning, we gathered at the school gate and took a bus to the farm in high spirits.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by the farmer who first gave us a detailed introduction of
some agricultural techniques. Then the farm activities provided us with hands-on experience in
areas such as planting, feeding and harvesting. Finally, the most memorable moment came when
we were presented with the harvested crops by the farmer.
These labor-based activities connect us with nature, encouraging practical skill-building and
fostering our respect for the contributions of labor to society.

第二节 读后续写(满分 25分)
Her voice faded, and before I knew it, I was standing before the Christmas tree. Glancing at
the flying paper angels, I felt a surge of warmth welling up inside me. I carefully chose one with
the name of a 10-year-old boy, whose family struggled to make ends meet. Determined to bring
him joy, I picked out a cool model airplane and a set of storybooks. As I placed the wrapped gifts
at the collection desk, the brother and sister, who had sparked my inspiration, flashed me a bright
smile, their eyes filled with encouragement. I responded with a smile and a thumbs-up.
Waving them goodbye, I left the store, a plan for next Christmas taking shape in my mind. I
decided to involve my son and daughter, who would surely be touched by this meaningful act. The
moment I got home, I showed them photos of the Charity Angel tree and shared the heartwarming
stories. Moved by what I told them, they immediately agreed to save money and join me next year.
From then on, our family would also contribute to spreading love during Christmas, making
helping others an unforgettable tradition.

W:What did Thomson do after graduating from university
M: He considered advertising, accounting and even a lawyer before he settled on teaching. He’s
been doing that ever since.
Text 2
M: What’s this A party Whose idea is this Is it yours, Sandy
W: No, this was all Janet’s idea. She invited Eric and me to come over and celebrate with you.
Text 3
M: Are you going shopping with me and mom this afternoon
W: I’d love to, but I’m meeting my classmate Susan. We are going to see that new Japanese
cartoon.
Text 4
M: Alice, aren’t you learning French by yourself now
W: Yes, I am. Why do you ask
M: Then I’m sure you want to go to the language study fair to be held next week.
W: Yes, how can I miss such an event
Text 5
M: We have to do our presentation tomorrow at 10.
W: Yes, we should be here at least half an hour earlier.
M: Well, I don’t have a problem getting up early, unlike someone.
W: I will try my best to get up early tomorrow.

Text 6
M: Are you involved in anything on campus besides studying
W: Well, I’m on the school band and I work for the school magazine.
M: Wow, they certainly keep your hands tied. You’ve already had a busy course schedule.
W: Yeah, I also got involved in sports and my spare time is almost used up. Anyway, I’m trying to
focus on matters required by my course schedules.
M: I guess so. Why not relax yourself a little bit Say the drama club will put on a show tonight.
The play is written by some graduates this year. Are you interested
W: Sounds interesting. I haven’t been to such performances for a while.
Text 7
M: Well, Jane, how did you do on your driving test
W: Not so well, I’m afraid.
M: Didn’t you get your license
W: No, my score was only 60%.
M: No wonder you look sad. Where did you lose the most points
W: One thing was not turning my head before changing roads or making turns.
M: Right. Using a turn signal isn’t enough. To be safe, you have to glance back over your shoulder
in the direction you want to go.
W: But my parking was good. I’ve been practicing that a lot.
M: What was your worst moment
W: Waiting on an uphill place for the light to change to green.
M: What happened
W: Well, I forgot to use the hand brake. So the car rolled back and hit the car behind me.
M: That alone probably failed you.
Text 8
M: Hi. I’d like to have some information about the summer courses at Swan school.
W: Certainly, Sir. We have two full time summer courses. The first course begins on July 3rd and
lasts until July 20th and the second from July 24th till August 10th.
M: What about the fees for each course
W: The former course costs 500 pounds and the latter costs 50 pounds higher.
M: I see. Do we have to find our own accommodation
W: No, we have a lady who arranges the accommodation for you with Oxford families here.
M: Good. How much does it cost
W: 430 pounds.
M: Okay. I’d like to choose the second course, please.
W: Sure, sir. Can I have your name and nationality, please
M: Dominic Dobuwa, D、O、B、U、W、A. I’m from France.
W: Okay, Mr. Dobuwa. You chose the second course from July 24th to August 10th. Please pay
before July 15th through our official website.
M: Okay, I am looking forward to going to your school in person.

Text 9
W: Martin, you’ve played many superheroes in the films. What is the hardest part of playing a
superhero
M: Well, you have to be fit to play the role but getting your body in shape isn’t the hardest part.
It’s getting the hang of all that leaping, falling, turning and rolling. That’s actually the trickiest.
W: So how did you get into acting
M: I’d never considered it. I majored in literature at university but was never involved in any
drama clubs. After graduating, I was employed by a comedy producer and it just went from there.
W: You grew up in Canada. How was that
M: Great. For my brothers, it was more about sports at weekends. I was the only one of my
brothers that was interested in the cinema but I wasn’t the sort of fan with posters all over the wall.
W: What would you have done if you hadn’t become an actor
M: My dad is a police officer, my mother and all my grandparents are doctors. Even so, neither of
those jobs appeals to me. My older brother has an import-export company and I guess I would
have a job with him.
W: Thank you, Martin.
Text 10
Hello everyone. Welcome! I’ve only started this channel this week. So I’m sort of nervous in
front of the camera. Anyway, I want to share with you everything I know about health. Today I
want to talk to you about how to feel younger. I am in my mid forties, yet I feel as energetic as I
did when I was eighteen. So what is my secret It’s not really a secret. It’s a combination of
exercise, healthy eating and rest. Sleep is the most important aspect of all of this. I imagine many
of you get around six hours of sleep a night. You might stay up late watching TV, playing video
games or just browsing your phone. What I’d suggest is setting an alarm an hour before you go to
bed. That alarm is to remind you to stop looking at electronic screens. They produce blue light
which can prevent you from going to sleep. I would also suggest not eating or drinking anything
two hours before bedtime. If you are restless, a glass of milk can help to settle you, but no tea or
coffee as they will keep you awake. Lastly, start your day on a positive note with half an hour of
exercise. It may not seem like a lot, but over time it will dramatically improve your health. Now, if
you have any questions, just type them on the screen.

I was a student at the University of Cincinnati's music academy, looking for something to do outside of musical harmony classes. Somehow, I found myself at a printer's office in Northern Kentucky, making final edits for Ed's small Cincinnati newspaper. It wasn't until I'd been there a few months that I realized how much Ed changed the world around him and changed my life in the process.
Ed started the paper because the local daily papers of the time turned a blind eye to some problems in the local community and gave little space to social issues affecting disadvantaged groups. Ed's paper was a small, 16-page monthly one, handed out for free in bars.
He often encouraged “non-writers” to write if they had a story to tell. Some of them were inexperienced writers. He worked with them until the words better expressed their ideas. When I turned in a story about an unpopular topic, he only asked, “Is it true ” and “Does it affect people ” Satisfied by my answers, he ran the story.
What drove Ed It wasn't fame, for the paper's limited resources(资源) kept him unknown; it wasn't money, for he ran the paper at a deficit(赤字) for its whole life of eight years. More than once, I remembered him having to choose between paying his rent and paying the printer. Perhaps his real drive was revealed in a recent phone conversation. While talking about a common friend, I said, “He fought the good fight.” Ed responded, “The good fight's never over.”
I don't believe events make heroes; I believe heroes are the result of long-standing goodness. Ed's story proved the value of constancy(坚定不移) and expressed the significance of working for good causes. He showed how one person, working tirelessly, could help a population get over its problems. Above all, his example showed me the necessity of making my own contributions to the causes I believe in.
24. Why did Ed set up the Cincinnati newspaper
A. To promote new writers' works.
B. To improve his printer's business.
C. To find talent from disadvantaged groups.
D. To reflect overlooked social problems.
25. What is Ed's attitude towards storytellers like the author
A. Unfavorable. B. Supportive. C. Doubtful. D. Picky.
26. What does the “good fight” in paragraph 4 mainly refer to
A. Making a name for himself.
B. Overcoming funding problems.
C. Doing worthy and kind causes.
D. Creating a significant profit.
27. Which of the following can best describe Ed
A. Determined and caring. B. Proud and single-minded.
C. Frank and generous. D. Careful and hard-working.
C
Deep sleep doesn't just rest your body. Scientists believe it's also when the brain washes away toxins(毒素), with a new project looking at whether the brain's self-clean can be boosted.
South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) neuroscientist Dr TimSargeant has teamed with Dr Edward Robins from SAHMRI's Molecular Imaging and Therapy Research Unit to develop a brain scan that shows how well a brain is cleaning itself. Studies have shown that a clean brain would help with memory while fighting dementia(痴呆).
Scientists believe our brains clean themselves out each night when we enter deep sleep. Cerebrospinal fluid(脑脊液) is thought to wash through the brain, cleaning out toxins. Studies have shown a clear link between poor memory and toxins like the buildup of sticky plaques(粘性斑块) in the brains. Scientists believe brains that have a buildup of this plaque over time may not be cleaning themselves properly, putting people at risk of dementia.
Fortunately, the hope is that a clean brain would help with memory while fighting dementia. The brain scan will use special material to track how well the brain can keep itself clean and healthy through the process of removing and recycling its waste. “We’ re aiming to catch the signs of the brain struggling to keep itself clean in individuals around the age of 50 or 60, well before the onset of Alzheimer’ s disease(阿尔茨海默病) in most people,” Dr Sargeant said.
This new scan, an exciting imaging technology, will allow scientists to form a picture of a living brain and watch how it's recycling wasting material in real time. “The scan takes out a lot of the guess work, by allowing scientists to see with their own eyes if they've hit the target or not,” Dr Robins said. “Without imaging, a researcher can get all the way up to the trial stage before realizing they’ re at a dead end.”
28. What is the aim of Dr Sargeant and Dr Robins’ developing the brain scan
A. To aid people to enter deep sleep.
B. To research how to remove sticky plaques.
C. To track the brain's self-cleaning capability.
D. To cure people of memory loss and dementia.
29. What may cause dementia according to the text
A. Not enough blood in the brain.
B. The over-cleaning of the brain.
C. The increase of cerebrospinal fluid.
D. The gradual increase of sticky plaques.
30. What does the underlined word “onset” in paragraph 4 mean
A. Worsening. B. Beginning. C. Improvement. D. Disappearance.
31. What does Dr Robins think of the brain scan
A. It is quite effective. B. It is just imaginary.
C. It brings more work. D. It is far from exact.
D
Being a vegetarian(素食者) in a meat-eating culture isn't always easy. I always get asked, “Why Since when How come ” and “How can you stand not eating meat ”
For me, being a vegetarian isn't strange; it's just who and what I am. I'm sick and tired of people judging(评价) me based on a personal choice that has nothing to do with them. Honestly, I could understand if my decision had an influence on their lives, but the thing is it doesn't, so they should just get over it.
If anything, more people should be vegetarians. It's a fact that a vegetarian has a lower risk of cancer, heart attacks, and high blood pressure. Being a vegetarian can help people live a longer life because they are eating healthily and not taking in the fat found in non-vegetarian diets. While all diets need to be balanced, it is possible to get protein, minerals and nutrients from vegetable sources. Vegetables, milk and eggs have all the requirements your body needs to survive.
If you are creative, a vegetarian diet is far from boring. As vegetables come in various types and tastes, they can be prepared and eaten in countless ways. There are so many vegetarian cookbooks, which shows this is a fact.
I find it funny when people say vegetarians do not get enough energy from their diet. My answer is to mention Dave Scott, the first person to win the IRONMAN World Championship six times! Yes, surprise, surprise, at the time he was a vegetarian.
Vegetarianism is better for the planet because the ecological footprint of vegetarians is smaller. So next time you want to judge someone's personal choice to go veggie, remember they have their reasons, not the least of which are concerns for animals and the state of the planet.
32. How does the author feel about others’ opinions on his diet
A. Curious. B. Annoyed. C. Appreciative. D. Unconcerned.
33. What does paragraph 3 mainly tell us about a vegetarian diet
A. Its advantages. B. Its sources. C. Its varieties. D. Its popularity.
34. Why does the author mention Dave Scott in paragraph 5
A. To show what a vegetarian diet is like.
B. To present a study on vegetarian diets.
C. To suggest a vegetarian diet is healthy.
D. To explore why some athletes are vegetarians.
35. What is the best title for the text
A. My Road to Becoming a Vegetarian
B. Mistaken Beliefs about Vegetarianism
C. Vegetarianism: A Common Phenomenon
D. Vegetarianism: More Than a Personal Choice

It was late December. It was the great Christmas shopping time. I asked my son and daughter to go together, but they preferred to play at home.
People were busy buying gifts for their beloved ones. It seemed that the bigger the gifts were the better they would be. I shook my head sadly and walked on. I was shopping alone trying to pick up some thick winter socks to warm my frozen feet.
As I rounded the corner in the store I saw a Christmas tree full of paper angels(天使). On each angel was the name of a needy child whose family couldn't afford to buy them a gift that year. Shoppers who picked an angel could buy a simple toy or gift. The store would wrap it and send it to the child that Christmas.
Around the tree I saw a teenage boy and girl picking out several angels. Their mother was smiling while she watched them. I walked up next to her and started talking with her. She told me that her children started this several years ago when she first explained to them what the Charity Angel tree was for. Each offered to give up one of their toys that year so that a needy child could have one. It didn't stop then, though. Each year since the kids had saved money they earned throughout the year and bought more and more children the gifts they wouldn't have otherwise. It had become a family tradition.
注意:
1.续写词数应为100个左右;
2.请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Her voice faded, and before I knew it, I was standing before the Christmas tree. Waving them goodbye, I left the store, a plan for next Christmas taking shape in my mind.
