Dear Micheal,
How's your vacation I'm visiting my uncle in Spain. He lives in the sunny and beautiful city of Valencia in Spain.
Yesterday, I had great fun. My uncle took me to the tomato festival in Bunol, which is just 30 miles away from where my uncle lives. You have probably never heard of this festival before. Neither had I. The tomato festival is called "La Tomatina" in Spanish. It was the biggest and messiest tomato fight in the world. When we first got to the square where the festival took place, it was very crowded with people from all around the world, and many trucks(卡车)were carrying tomatoes. My uncle told me the crowded people here were around 38,000 and this was more than four times the population of Bunol.
The tomato fight started as soon as the first banger(破旧的汽车)was beaten. Then everyone including me started throwing tomatoes at each other. I took red tomatoes and threw them at anyone that ran, moved, bent down, or turned around. Tomatoes must be squashed(压扁)before people threw them in order not to hurt anybody.
After a little while, the streets, people and nearby buildings were splashed with red. There was no winner in this fight, but we all had fun. As soon as a second banger was beaten, people stopped throwing.
I really had a great time, I wish you were here, too. I hope I hear from you soon. Take care.
With love,
From Spain

Lewis owns a big warehouse(仓库)This is because he has his own company. He stores all of his goods in the warehouse. Many of his neighbors are jealous(羡慕)of him because they also want to have a place like that to put things in.
But on a big sunny day, the warehouse caught fire. After Lewis' family put the fire out, Lewis hurried back from a nearby coffee shop and found that all of his goods had burnned up. He called the police at once.

Each time I take a plane and get ready for a long-hour flight, the same thought goes through my mind: why can't planes be faster Everything else is speeding up: smartphones, the Internet, the speed of life in general! So why can't we get a superfast passenger plane
Speed has always interested engineers and pilots. At least at first, they were pretty good at getting these metal birds to fly faster and faster. As long ago as 1945, a German test pilot reached a speed of 610 mph(miles per hour). But then, something happened, and the speed stopped growing. In fact, it's slowing down! Any guesses why Because unlike riding a bike down the hill, there's no surface of the road trying to push the front wheel this or that way. No, it's all air! Besides air, there's this thing called aerodynamics. That's a word for the movement of air around a certain thing. If you've put your hand out of the car window, then you know how much force(力)air can have. When the car moves fast, the air will hit your hand so hard that you may have trouble pulling it back
Faster doesn't mean better. A plane isn't always in the air-you also have to consider take-off and landing. Those two situations can be quite dangerous at high speeds. Taking the speed down a bit is also more comfortable for passengers since the ride is less noisy.
Another reason is about engines(引擎)and fuel(燃料)The faster the plane is flying, the more the engines have to work. If the engines are always working fully, they won't last long and need to be repaired more often. Also, they burn more fuel, which makes ticket prices higher and fewer people will choose the plane trip.
After all these years of experience, plane engineers have found the best speed of flight:560 mph. That's because safety always comes first. One day, the best scientific minds will come up with something to make planes faster, comfortable and affordable!
56. In 1945, a German test pilot reached a speed of_____________.
A. 700 mph B. 610 mph C. 120 mph D. 560 mph

Do you like eating instant noodles(方便面)The food is easy to make and cheap to buy. This year is the 60th birthday of the invention of instant noodles. It was invented by Japanese businessman Momofuku Ando in 1958.
China is the biggest market for instant noodles. It can be a snack for students, a meal on a train, or just a good choice for hungry workers. More than 46. 2 billion instant noodle packets were sold on the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong in 2013, a BBC article reported. But by 2016, those sales had dropped to 38.5 billion packets, according to the World Instant Noodle Association.
The biggest reason for the drop is the rise of online food delivery services(外卖服务), They can bring you food no matter where you are. They also offer more choices and tastier food. According to a 2016 survey by China Youth Daily, about 70 percent of young people order meals online at least once a week.
This shows that Chinese people now expect higher for the quality of their food, according to Shen Hongbing. a professor from Chongqing Technology and Business University.
Facing this challenge, instant food companies are trying to do something to increase sales. For example, Kangshifu, one of the largest instant noodle companies, puts more natural food and fewer man-made tastes into the noodles and it also tries to make its noodles non-fried(非油炸), which can cut the calories(卡路里)and bring less fat. Another big company, Tangdaren, takes actions, too. It changes the price from 9 yuan to 7 yuan for each bowl. There are many other instant food companies following them to improve their products to meet people's needs.
Will instant noodles disappear one day We don't know. But they have surely left a mark on dining history.
