How much time do you spend looking at your smart phone, iPad, or computer every day These electronic devices(设备) help us in many ways, but they may cause health problems, too.
Too much screen time can cause eye tiredness, which leaves your eyes feeling dry and painful and could even affect your eyesight. To help your eyes stay healthy, follow the“20-20-20”rule: every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
Your eyes aren't the only parts of your b dy that could become worse from using electronic devices. People who type a lot can develop an injury. The repeated movement of typing with fingers can cause pain and lead to losing strength. To avoid this, do this exercise: put a rubber band(橡皮筋) around the tips of your five fingers and open your hand to make the rubber band bigger and wider. Repeat this a few times.
Scientists suggest that electronic devices can hurt your mind too. One of the biggest problems is that using these things can affect your sleep styles. Doctors say the screen light stops you from feeling sleepy. So they advise people not to use electronic devices for at least one hour before trying to sleep.
Another serious danger is Internet addiction(瘾). Many people turn to the :Internet to get relaxation. They wish to get away from stress, sadness or loneliness. Over time, they might start to depend on the Internet. To stop yourself from falling into this kind of trap, control the amount of time you spend online.

Nejat's robots are designed to fill an increasing need: care-giving for the old. The population of the people over age 80 will be 426 million in 2050, three times larger than that now.
Such robots could be especially useful for patients with Alzheimer's disease(阿尔茨海默症). They can help with everyday activities from preparing food to reminding the patients of taking their medicine. They can also play games with patients to keep them active.
Some have worried that care-giving robots might cut down human interaction(互动) and cause more humans to lose their jobs. “But the ai m is to support humancare, not to take the place of it,”says Brian Scassellati. He has tested robots with different patients, and found that daily interaction with robots can help children with autism.(自 闭 症) improve communication skills.
As a field(领域) grows, scientists airr to understand human-robot relationships better.)Do robots offer advantages because they don't have feelings and don't give opinions Will patients lose interest “One thing is clear,”Scassellati says. “Robots can provide care for the customers and the need for that will increase in the future.”

Imagine mountains held in silver water, shining in the spring sun. Summer sees the mountain s turn green with growing rice. During autumn, these same mountains are gold, and in winter they are covered with white frost. These are the colors of the Longji Rice Terraces.
These terraces were built by the local Zhuang and Yao people in Guangxi. Work on the terraces took them hundreds of years from Yuan Dynasty to the early Qing Dynasty.
So why did these people go to so much trouble to turn the mountains into terraces Firstly, there are few large, flat(平坦的) areas of land here. Building the terraces meant that they could increase more fields to grow rice. Secondly, the flat terraces catch the rainwater and stop the soil from being washed away.
But perhaps what is most meaningful is the way people have worked in harmony(和谐) !with nature to make these terraces. The terraces are cleverly shaped, with hundreds of waterways that connect with each other. During the rainy season, it is along these waterways that rainwater moves down the mountains and into the terraces. The sun heats the water and turns it into vapour. This forms clouds and then rain falls down onto the mountain terraces once again.
Although modern technology could help produce more crops, these terraces still mean a lot to the local people. For them, traditions hold much value. This knowledge is passed down through families, which means that people continue to use ancient methods of farming to keep the terraces. Today, the Longji Rice Terraces receive high praise(赞扬), and thousands of visitors come to enjoy this great wonder created by people and nature working together.
( )13. How does the writer introduce the Longji Rice Terraces in Paragraph 1
A. By telling stories. B. By describing sights.
C. By showing cultures. D. By making interviews.
( )14. What is Paragraph 4 mainly about
Why the farmers use the waterways to grow rice.
B. Why the farmers turn the mountain s into terraces.
C. How people work in harmony with nature together.
D. How the local people protect crops in the rainy season.
( )15. Why do the local people still keep their ancient farming ways
A. To value their traditions. B. To produce more crops.
C. To share their experience. D. To satisfy more visitors.
( )16. What's the writer's purpose in writing the text
A. To introduce the Longji Rice Terraces. B. To advise people to build more terraces.
C. To list the ways of improving technology. D. To praise the cleverness of the local people.

Everyone in China knows“Tianyan”, which is actually named FASE. It is the world's largest single aperture radio telescope(单口径射电望远镜), as big as thirty:football fields. It was created by Nan Rendong——a scientist and engineer.

In 1984, he completed more than ten great astronomical observations(天文学观测) in the world.)In the 1990s, Nan Rendong studied and worked in Japan.
